We recommend 1″ to 2″ of water per week for established lawns. For newly seeded or fresh sod, you’re going to want more. During the intense Summer heat, you may want to increase the frequency of watering.
The autumn season comes to us with a mixture of warmth and cold, perfect for planting grass seeds and allowing them to grow into healthy, strong grass roots before winter sets in. We can also fertilize our lawns to strengthen the roots so they can withstand the harshness of winter.
We will mow at 3.75″ in the Spring, 4″ during the Summer, and back to 3.75″ in the Fall. Our large commercial 52″ mowers require a minimum of 3.5″ mow height or we risk scalping the lawn on uneven terrain.
Tall Fescue is one of the most common grasses in Kansas. Tall Fescue remained relegated to agrarian use as a pasture grass till the mid – to late 1900s. As a cool season grass, it is well suited to northern lawns. Also has added benefits in tropical climate zones where cool season and warm season grasses meet. Compared to warm season grass options, it has superior heat tolerance as well as enhanced cold tolerance. The result is beautiful year-round lawns in this challenging transition area.
